This is a very poinant film about negative attitudes of bus drivers to people who use wheelchairs. Perhaps the hardest hitting part is how the public gang up against Karen- no one tries to help her. Karen was deeply affected by this incident. She is thrilled that her story is being shared.

One of our members, Fiona Dawson is interviewed by SCLD. “Fiona is a longstanding member of the South Ayrshire Swim Team (SAST) Para Squad. Throughout her swimming career she has won multiple gold and silver medals in both the Special Olympics and European Down’s Syndrome Championships. She is also a double world record breaker. As well as acting as a role model to other female swimmers in the squad, Fiona has taken on team management roles and is training to become a swimming coach. She has battled through a number of personal challenges to inspire and encourage others to reach for the stars.”

Emma Completed The Edinburgh Half Marathon!!!  Congratulations to Emma who completed the Edinburgh Half Marathon in 2 hours and 20 minutes (and 10 seconds to be precise!) she tells us. Well done and huge thanks to you for your fundraising from all of us at Equal Futures!!! Emma is in Andrew's Circle and is keen to support Equal Futures to continue to nurture social connections for our members. One of our members is seeking a part time support worker.  The role is to help with his morning and evening routine.  It is 4hrs per week covering a rota with these hours: 7:30am – 8:30am 9:30pm – 10:30pm £8.50 per hour Would suit someone living near the Meadows area of Edinburgh For further information contact Fiona Bruce at:  fmbruce6@googlemail.com
